Recognized as an authority in the New York Law Journal article “Who’s Who in Trusts & Estates”, John J. Ferguson has focused his legal practice in the practice areas of trusts and estates for more than 40 years. Furthering his focus, he is also a lecturer on Wills and estate planning and has spoken at various seminars for Fortune 100 corporations and a local law school.

John served as a senior partner of Bleakley Platt & Schmidt until January of 2006, when he joined his entire Connecticut office with Ken Aufsesser Esq., former partner of Fair & Aufsesser, establishing the current firm of Ferguson Cohen LLP.

Active in the local community, John J. Ferguson is a member of the Board of Directors of Patriot National Bank and St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, N.Y. Mr. Ferguson is a Knight of Malta and also a member of the President’s Council of the College of Holy Cross, where he formerly was an associate trustee. He also serves as counsel and member on the board to many private foundations. Previously, he was a member of the board of Inner City Foundation of Education (Diocese of Bridgeport), St. Vincent’s Hospital of Rye, N.Y., and the College of New Rochelle.
